Arthritic pain
Arthritis is a common condition that causes pain and inflammation in a joint. There are many different types of arthritis but the most common is osteoarthritis. Generally this affects people over 40 but can affect younger people as a result of an injury.
Arthritis is the general wear and tear of your joints. The cartilage lining of the joint thins leading to the joint becoming painful, swollen and stiff. In severe cases the cartilage lining can become so thin that bone on bone contact happens which can sometimes lead to joint deformity.
Arthritis does mean you have to be in pain. We can help by applying specific techniques to the affected joint which will help reduce pain and improve function, and by giving you exercises to improve muscle strength around the joint to increase stability.
